Four months before the wedding day, David’s carer left us. So whilst we searched for the perfect replacement, I became David’s full time carer….which believe me, is pretty intense and sometimes exhausting. Life with David is never dull but I was trying to manage my own work, wedding plans, gym………………………………….
As I mentioned in the last blog, RAW TV had got in touch to ask if we’d be interested in being part of a programme which had a working title of “Miracle Weddings”. Personally I hadn’t considered our wedding exceptional. Many of my friends have met their partners since becoming………………………………….
Sorry for the long delay since the last blog. Apart from it being an incredibly busy, we were actually getting married! Something very exciting happened which meant I couldn’t talk about something that needs to be in this blog. All will be revealed shortly…. Let’s pick up where we last………………………………….
We had been together just over 2 years. Everything was going really well; so the more rational amongst you might ask the question: “Why rock the boat?”. Why not just carry on living together happily? I know how much getting married means to Nicky, and I love her very much.………………………………….
Friday 27th November; my life changed forever. It started as your average Friday. David’s carer came in at 8am to get him up and I went off to the gym. Nothing unusual. I came back from the gym and spent 4 hours on the phone trying to get tickets for………………………………….
After a relatively short period of time, we decided that we’d like to make things more permanent; it just seemed right. Travelling back and forth from Monmouth was difficult, and time consuming for her, and it meant that we could only see each other a few times a week. There………………………………….
After our first date I had butterflies and was buzzing. I was really looking forward to meeting again. Nicky loves cooking, and suggested that she came over to cook for us here. I asked my carer to leave us to it for the evening, and we had the place to………………………………….
Waiting for Nicky to arrive for our first date evoked a lot of emotions, but mainly excitement, trepidation, and hope. It was exciting because we had already spoken and messaged each other a lot, and I was looking forward to meeting this bubbly person properly. Obviously our paths had crossed………………………………….

You will know by now that I threw myself into this relationship with every bit of strength I had. I chose to take on David’s care and I wanted to get heavily involved with sailing and rugby. We have a fantastic life. It’s very busy, often exhausting keeping up with………………………………….
